Almost 2yrs since I started at this frame making. Feels different now....slower pace with it...as it is a side gig and all.

Thanks to everyone who put your trust in me. Feels good to make quality things...simple, hopefully timeless in design, and lasting.

I'm rarely taking orders, but I'll post here when my order book opens.

Cheers

My order book is open for a limited number of orders. 4 week lead time. DM to inquire.

Just a quick 'overdue' update. I'm not taking new orders right now. I did open my books in July for only about a week and then I had to lose it again, because I started another intensive design contract. I'll likely post on Instagram, when I'm available again for frame orders.
Happy Autumn...hope you're all sinking deeper into your art practice as winter approaches....it's surely a life raft. :)

The shop feels so much better when I can let the sunshine in. Just finished up a couple 24x30 frames today.

Much appreciation to everybody that's supported my business so far. It's definitely been a worthwhile experience to date.

I have a large design contract that's landing soon which will require my full attention over the coming months.

I'll start posting again when I'm ready to take on new orders.

Cheers

Recently framed...a piece of art purchased a couple years back, by one of my clients. She said she's falling in love with it all over again. 🤩

Music to my ears.

Do you have a piece of art at home that may need a little more love?!

It's been a busy couple of months to start the year! Feeling grateful for this occupation...and the tiny heater that kept my garage above freezing when it counted 🙏

Surely just a teeze, but it's been feeling like spring here in Vancouver this past week.

Hope you're gettin' a little sun too, wherever you are ✨

Getting back into it!
Send me your frame requests 🙌
Current lead time is 3weeks, since I have a little ketchup to do after the holidays.
Happy New Year to all the artists!

So how do people feel about wood grain?

Most of the frames I've built have a more subtle, straighter grain (from lumber that I have had picked), but oak is known for its accentuated grain patterns... As you can see on the frame in the center.

One artist I know finds that stripey oak grain to be too strong of a visual for them... distracting from the art piece.

I tend to agree, but it seems merely a personal preference. I'd like to hear from a wider audience....I'm very curious to hear some thoughts from the community here. Do you even notice the difference? Is this something you think about when you buy wooden frames?

zebra cool, or no? 🦓 🧐

For reference, that "zebra" style is the more common cut, widely available, and the most affordable for Red oak. I've been making other choices, but I'd like to determine if the extra effort and cost is worth it for the more subtle grain?

The final step.. applying a natural oil/wax finish...it's the best part! ✨ The product is done ...
