I'm finally putting my reading "to good use". I've joined the July Reading Challenge to fundraise for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Maple cabinets can be quite costly, so a good option instead of replacing them, is painting them.

The story of a kitchen. This is a perfect example of how you can bring a kitchen from pretty to gorgeous. Not only did we choose a creamier, less stark shade of white (hello Steam from 👋) but we also filled in builder's gaps, and touched-up bumps and and bruises left by installers. So what started as a white that was just too bright, we finished with a soft, more inviting look. Paint makes a big difference!!

Rebuild a custom vanity, or refinish it? I will always choose to refinish. It's cost efficient, it's custom (since you choose the colour and finish), and it won't end up in a landfill. The money you save on refinishing your cabinetry can be used for fancier tiles, or that marble counter you had your eye on 😉
