Did you know that MANY candles release harmful chemicals into the air when burned. This can come from the wax, the wick and or the fragrance/dye additives.

Paraffin wax is very common in candles because of its high scent load, but is the biggest concern as it can release toluene and benzene — both are known carcinogens.

These ingredients are not designed to burn cleanly. Exposing them to heat causes volatile organic compounds to be released into the air.

This release can cause (but is not limited to)

~ hormonal or neurological disruption
~ indoor air pollution
