A month into school and we’re finally settling back into our routines… but the morning chaos is still very real. 😅

Breakfast crumbs, backpacks, shoes, pet hair, it all seems to end up on the floor before 8 AM.

I’m exposing my dirty floors… because apparently I’ve been living like this. 😅

Between everyday life, the backyard project, and everything we somehow track inside, my floors have been taking a beating lately.

These giant boulders have been on this property since the day we bought our lot 9 years ago 🪨🤍

For years, they framed our kids’ sandbox, quietly becoming part of so many everyday memories. When we designed this backyard, we knew they deserved a place in the next chapter, too.

The vision was to create a firepit sitting area where the boulders anchor and frame the space, while layers of pea stone and planting soften the landscape around them.

Now that this space is close to complete. And we can’t wait for this little corner to become the place where summer nights, long conversations, and some of our favourite memories are made.

Sometimes the best design features are the ones that have been there all along.

These boulders have been on this property since the day we bought the land 🪨

They started as the border around our kids’ sandbox, but as the kids got older and while planning our backyard pool, I always envisioned giving them a new purpose.

Now they surround our fire pit sitting area, letting nature become part of the design, not just the backdrop.

There’s still lots of planting and growing to do, but it’s finally coming together🌿
