Instead of replacing perfectly solid cupboards and countertops, I painted the existing cabinetry, saving a ton of money and giving the space a whole new personality.

And the backsplash?

That’s one of my favourite parts 👇
I found sheets tucked away in my barn, cut them to size and hand-painted them. Proof that sometimes the best design pieces are already waiting for you.

This kitchen is now more than just a kitchen — it’s becoming a lounge-style space where I’ll meet with clients to chat about custom furniture, paint projects, and creative ideas. A place to slow down, dream a little, and plan something beautiful together.

Reuse. Repurpose. Reimagine.
This is what I love to do — and this space finally reflects it. 💫

Big changes are happening over here and I’m so excited to finally start sharing them with you! 💙
What was once a space full of “what ifs” is slowly being transformed into a place filled with creativity, coastal charm, and community.

🎨 Walls are getting refreshed
🪵 Decor is being re-imagined
🌊 Coastal touches are coming together
🖌️ And every update is being done with intention, heart, and a whole lot of paint

This space will be my office and creative hub — where ideas come to life, projects are planned, furniture gets transformed, and new workshops and offerings take shape.

This isn’t just a remodel — it’s the foundation of something special. A place where creativity flows freely, inspiration lives in every corner, and community connections grow.

Did a little fishing off this wharf, 5 minutes away from my front door.

Caught a fish but as I reeled in and up, the fish fell off. Going out again after dinner tonight.

✨ Storefront Makeover in Progress! ✨

As I continue refreshing the Chalk It Up to Julie storefront, I’m getting creative and resourceful—finding ways to give the space a major facelift on a shoestring budget. (And when I say low-cost, I mean almost free!)
