Finished double-lidded jar for storing loose tea leaves, joined by a recent little mug.
Behind the scenes, I’ve been taking some steps toward a more layered, complex surface. For years I’ve mostly used clear glaze over my inlay work, and now I’m experimenting with glazes that are more juicy and dynamic.
I’m interested in surfaces that hold a little more tension and variation. Places where colour pools and lines blur. It feels more honest somehow. Complex, like us.
I’m still undecided about the blue layered over the warmer colours on the jar, but I think that’s part of exploring. I’m curious, what are your thoughts?
