Been quiet on here because I've been completely immersed in a creative flow! It's been glorious to be fully focused in the studio these past months, painting and designing stationery and websites! 🎨✨ Sometimes you need to step back from the sharing to truly dive into the creating. Can you relate?

My nephew's Bar Mitzvah is on the horizon, which sparked the inspiration for this invitation design for .

Most days I’m stuck driving along the coast, but when someone else takes the wheel I get to actually see the good stuff: the moody skies when storms roll in, the ocean getting all dramatic. I’ve been adding layers of oils to this sky,t it’s still not right but getting there? Planning to work on those tall firs next. I love watching them sway like crazy in the wind but somehow stay put.

Scenes from my desk…
My No-idea-what’s-next process: I like to just grab 3 books and pull out things inspired by bits and pieces of the photos. I’ll try different mediums (in this case a linoblock and drawing) to build on that little thing that caught my eye (a motif in an iron wrought fence, the layered colors of a print, the way the background of a painting was colored in). And then eventually a new idea forms for a pattern or a painting and off we go!

This painting on wood is filled with greens and blues and a dash of purple where the light reflects on the trees and lilies. I love how it’s framed in our handmade frame with locally milled wood, I get such joy in having made something from start to finish!

Yesterday I shared that my husband Sam and I have been (and currently are) working together on creating traditionally and lovingly made goods for the home. We’ve been prototyping lots and lots and I wanted to share some of the fabrics that I designed that we will be using for upholstery and other lovely homey things.

To me there is no better place than home, so filling it with things that are made with care is like inviting a good friend over. Color and pattern do so much to connect us to the rooms we spend time in that I wanted to create warm and layered textile designs.
