The name of my workshop comes in two parts, reflecting my home in Suisse Romande and the artisan nature of my work alongside my Scottish roots and the focus I have on natural products. Le Savon
I have found a passion for creating soap and aim to produce beautiful soaps both in character and appearance. I have carefully considered the ingredients that I use throughout the range and I'm easily inspi
red to try the next perfect combination. I use:
- 100% natural ingredients...my soaps are plastic free inside and out
- only plant based oils and butters
- only essential oils for scent
- no Palm oil (even sustainably sourced options...there are plenty of alternatives)
- recycled/recyclable materials for packaging
* Essential oils are wonderful and many contribute to the character of the soap in addition to the scent but not all are safe to use for everyone e.g. A full ingredients list is available for each bar so please ensure the product is suitable for you before use and consult your doctor if in any doubt.
* Not all of my soaps are vegan friendly as I occasionally choose to use certain skin-loving additives including milk and honey but each bar has a full ingredients list to ensure clarity. Le Crochet
I love to crochet and have selected a few beautiful yarns to create some fun and practical accessories. I have focussed on natural fibres, which include cotton, bamboo and a wonderful 100% eucalyptus in the range. Watch this space...
My interest lies in natural plant based dyes, which I have begun using in my soap and include indigo, madder and alkanet. Many plant extracts can also be used to effectively dye fibres, which I plan to do to expand my crochet range with products created from hand dyed yarns. Eventually, I would love to include 'La Mode' to my products, where I plan to use the same approach of dying natural fabrics with plant based dyes and to use other carefully selected fabrics to create a small line of handsewn garments and accessories.
