The lights are arranged at varying intervals of 1.0 m, 1.1 m and 1.5 m, breaking away from the rigid, repetitive feel of a standard grid layout.

A DMX512 control system coordinates the lighting across the plaza, allowing different patterns and sequences to move across the ground.

Together, the irregular layout and dynamic lighting bring more rhythm and visual interest to the plaza, helping draw people into the space and create a more active public environment after dark.

At Blackstone M+ in Shanghai, China, LED Wall Tiles are integrated directly into the dark brick walls, adding illuminated details that become part of the wall’s visual composition after dark.

The LED Wall Tiles feature customized brick-textured surfaces designed to match the surrounding masonry. During the day, they blend naturally into the wall; after dark, they form irregular linear highlights across the black brickwork, creating a subtle but distinctive contrast.

The illuminated tiles extend horizontally across the wall in varying lengths, introducing a layered rhythm to the dark surface.

Together with the flowing water and white fountain effects below, they add depth and visual movement to the space, giving the entrance a more distinctive nighttime appearance.

On Shanghai’s Bund, architecture carries history — and lighting brings its details forward after dark.

Located in the heart of Shanghai’s Bund, China, Bund Finance Center (BFC) is a major mixed-use development covering approximately 420,000 m².

Its architecture combines hand-carved beige stone, copper elements and glass facades, creating a distinctive balance between the historic character of the Bund and contemporary design.

Shone Lighting supplied customized LED linear lights and floodlights for the project, helping emphasize the building’s materials, facade structure and architectural details.

Rather than overpowering the architecture, the lighting works with it, revealing the texture, depth and character that define BFC at night.

A Public Plaza Can Become a Completely Different Space After Dark

At Fuxi Cultural and Creative Park in Zigong, China, lighting gives the open sunken plaza a new nighttime character.

Located beside the Fuxi River, the plaza features 1,200 sets of Shone Lighting LED Brick Lights integrated into the ground, bringing light, movement and visual rhythm into the public space.

Rather than being added as a separate decorative element, the lighting becomes part of the landscape itself, guiding visitors through the plaza and making the space more engaging after dark.

By integrating light directly into the paving, the LED Brick Lights help define the plaza visually, strengthen the sense of movement across the space, and give the riverside setting a distinctive nighttime identity.

Lighting the Hengqin Bridge After Dark

A bridge lighting upgrade is not only about adding light—it is about revealing the structure and character of the bridge after dark.

The Hengqin Bridge in Zhuhai, China is 1,425 meters long.

The lighting upgrade covered the main bridge, approach sections, underside, and other areas, with nearly 600 sets of LED floodlights installed in total.

Shone Lighting supplied the key floodlighting fixtures for the project, including 300W RGBW floodlights for dynamic color effects and 90W 2700K floodlights for warm architectural illumination.

With daily, celebration, and festival lighting modes, the bridge can create different nighttime atmospheres while emphasizing its structure and architectural rhythm.

Lighting for Urban Renewal

At the Yangtze River Delta Roadshow Center in Shanghai, a former industrial site has been transformed into a renewed destination for business, innovation, and public activities.

For Building 8, the original facade was preserved, while Shone Lighting supplied customized luminous wall tiles with a water-ripple texture. During the day, the white tiles create a distinctive contrast with the red brick walls. At night, they become illuminated accents, adding new depth and rhythm to the facade.

A small lighting intervention, but one that gives an old space new vitality and helps reveal its own character and identity.

How Customized Linear Lighting Enhances a Facade

For the Headquarters Economic Zone Phase II in Guangzhou Science City, China, Shone Lighting supplied customized 35 × 39 mm linear lights developed for the project’s facade requirements.

The customized solution offers four key functions:

• Custom color: The housings match the building exterior, making the fixtures less visible during the day.

• Uniform lighting: A special optical design creates smooth, continuous light with no dark gaps and reduced glare.

• Hidden cabling: Power and network cables are concealed inside custom aluminum channels that follow the facade lines.

• Coordinated control: DMX512 enables the lighting across multiple buildings to work together, creating a unified lighting effect. Holiday and energy-saving modes create different atmospheres at different times while reducing energy use and simplifying management.
