💡BTF-LIGHTING: RGBIC VS RGBWIC. What's the difference?

The main difference between these two types of light strips is the way they produce white light. RGBIC light strips do not have a dedicated white LED; instead, they create white light by mixing red, green, and blue LEDs. As a result, the white light can sometimes appear bluish.

In contrast, RGBWIC light strips include separate white LEDs specifically designed to produce a more accurate and pleasing white light.

💡How should you choose between them?

Your choice depends on your intended applications. If you plan to primarily use RGB colors for projects such as a home theater or gaming setup, then RGBIC light strips would be suitable for you.

However, if you need to use both white and RGB light extensively, such as for living room or kitchen lighting, RGBWIC light strips would be a better choice for your projects.

First off these LEDs are only the strip. You will need to get the power supply and controller. BTF does sell those parts as well which means this is not plug and play. Be sure to get these other parts.

What makes these FCOBs different from others is the ability to control the color temp of the white lights separate from the color. It does it using only 3 wires which makes it easier to run cables. They function as well as other strips which do not have the feature of the adjustable white.

Strips do have a nice connector to make this easier to plug into your controller plus pigtails and clips. If you are not adhering this to an LED channel I would use the clip especially when mounting upside down on a painted surface. As a matter of fact if surface is not smooth and glossy, clips are a must.

I have other BTF strips and all have been working with no issues which makes these durable and trusted to last.

As far as value, this has good value compared to other known brands which are more expensive per foot.

If you are on the fence and never heard of BTF rest assured these are good quality lights and are well known among Diyers.

💡 RGB vs. RGBIC (Non-Addressable vs. Addressable)

✨RGB strips (non-addressable) consist of LED chips with separate diodes for red (R), green (G), and blue (B). With these strips, you can only change the color for the entire strip at once.

✨On the other hand, RGBIC strips (addressable) are a more advanced version of RGB strips. The key difference is that they feature an integrated circuit (IC) chip, which allows you to control the LEDs individually or in segments. This capability enables you to create dynamic color-chasing effects easily.

These are awesome!! They are bright the colors are vivid. The adhesive is great. Stuck to wood and metal! Many options with color displays and scenes. No batteries required but you do need a controller and a power source. You can find them on Amazon relatively low cost.
