Here’s what’s happening across the Famagusta region this month:

🎶 Tue 13 Oct – Music Festival in Paralimni–Deryneia: “The Poet Is a River.” A free evening of poetry and music at the Frenaros Municipal Amphitheatre, honouring 100 years of Pieris Pierettis.

🏰 14–18 Oct – 21st Agia Napa Medieval Festival. Five nights of street theatre, concerts and a grand medieval parade around the Ayia Napa Monastery. Free entry!

🏊‍♂️ 17–18 Oct – Protaras SwimRun Cyprus. Swim and run along the stunning Protaras coastline, with races for athletes, teams and families.

🏃‍♀️🌊 The 1st Cablenet Famagusta Run is coming to Protaras! 🇨🇾

Get ready for a brand-new running experience by the Mediterranean! On Sunday, 11 October 2026, Protaras will host the 1st Cablenet Famagusta Run, bringing together runners, families and supporters for a spectacular day of sport, energy and community. 🌅🏃‍♂️

📍 Fig Tree Bay, Protaras
🏁 Start & Finish: Fig Tree Bay

The event features five races, offering something for everyone:

🏃‍♂️ 30KM – “The Challenge”

🏃‍♀️ 10KM – “The Run”

👟 5KM Individual – “The Experience”

🤝 5KM Corporate – “Team Spirit”

👧🧒 1KM Kids Race – “The Start”

From the longest challenge to the kids’ race, the Famagusta Run is designed to bring people together through sport while showcasing the natural beauty, hospitality and unique character of the Famagusta region.

🌊 Run by the sea. Run through Protaras. Run for the experience.

🐉🚣‍♀️ The 4th International Cyprus Dragon Boat Regatta is coming to Ayia Napa! 🇨🇾

Ayia Napa is proud to welcome, for the second consecutive year, the 4th International Cyprus Dragon Boat Regatta — a major international sporting event bringing together athletes and teams from Cyprus and around the world! 🌍

📅 Saturday, 10 October & Sunday, 11 October 2026
⏰ 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
📍 Ayia Napa Marina

🏆 13 teams will take part:
🇨🇾 5 teams from Cyprus
🌍 8 international teams from Croatia, the United Kingdom, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Austria and Israel.

The programme features exciting 200-metre races, with 22- and 12-person crews competing in the Premier and Masters categories.

Beyond the competition, the Regatta celebrates the true spirit of sport — teamwork, respect, solidarity and fair play — bringing people from different countries together through their shared passion for Dragon Boat.
