A pink sky that doesn‘t exist… Below is ground.
Above it runs a path of light, with a few places along the way where you could stop. I never decided where it leads.

Imagination doesn’t ask where I’m going. That’s why I can breathe in it.

I spent the last week going through almost 20 years of my work.

Paintings I had almost forgotten. Experiments I never continued. Pieces I look at very differently today. And some where I can suddenly see the beginning of something that became important much later.
This is one of those works.

Around this time I started experimenting much more freely with materials — wire, washers, rhinestones, different texture pastes, spray paint… whatever made me curious enough to try it.

The canvas slowly stopped being just a flat surface to paint on. I wanted to build on it, change it, add things, create depth and see what would happen when different materials met.

Looking at it now, I can see how much of the way I work today started somewhere around here.
Not fully formed, not planned — just curiosity and a lot of experimenting.

Going through all these old works has made me quite reflective. You forget how many small changes happen over the years.

At the time they don’t necessarily feel important. Only when you look back do you realise that some of them quietly changed your direction.

What art means to me.

Art is the one place where I don’t need to know the outcome before I begin.

I can switch off from everything around me, follow an idea, change direction, make mistakes, start again — and sometimes end up somewhere I never expected.

It gives me freedom. A space to imagine things that don’t exist yet, to disappear into another world for a while, and to make something that wasn’t there before.

Some days it’s exciting, some days frustrating, and sometimes I have no idea what I’m doing until suddenly something starts to make sense.

But that is exactly what I love about it.

Art, for me, isn’t only about making something beautiful. It’s about curiosity, imagination, freedom — and having a place where I can just be.

And I honestly can’t imagine my life without it.

„Space – View from the Moon“

I think we need places where not everything has to be real or make sense.

When I paint, I can switch off from everything around me for a while.
I don’t need to know where the painting is going. I can imagine places that don’t exist, build a landscape from nothing and disappear into it for a bit.

I think it’s important to keep that ability — to imagine, invent and let your mind go somewhere else sometimes.

This painting came from exactly that.

Some works only make sense when you get closer.

Cracks, raised layers, paper, mirror mosaic, metallic details — these are the parts that disappear first in a flat image.

I like seeing how much changes when you move from the full composition into the surface itself.
