A new portrait taking shape in the studio, using my signature approach of painting on shaped boards. From shaping the board and preparing the surface to painting the final details, this piece will take around 20 hours to complete before it’s installed outdoors.

15 hours of painting for a memorial portrait

This artwork measures 120 × 70 × 5 cm and was painted on a custom made wooden panel.

I’ve never been a big fan of traditional canvases, so for this commission I suggested this option, which I feel gives the artwork a more solid presence.
