„Sushi“ 2025

When my beloved dog Sushi passed away, the weather was beautiful. The sun was shining, the sky calm and clear – as if the world had paused for a moment to say goodbye to her.
I held her in my arms outside, under the open sky, as she took her final breaths. And I cried – the kind of crying that only happens when a piece of your soul is taken from you.
Sushi was my soul dog. Everything in my life that truly meant love and comfort lived within her.
After she passed, I sat in the car and looked into the rearview mirror. I saw myself – wearing my green glasses, with black tears running down my face. The mascara had smeared, as if the pain was spilling straight out of me.
It looked like those dark streaks were flowing directly from the glasses – as if the moment itself had painted a picture I would never forget.
When I got home, I picked up a pencil and sketched exactly what I had seen: my face, full of sorrow, marked by tears. A self-portrait in memory of that final moment with her.
I dedicated the drawing to Sushi. And I named it simply: “Sushi.”
