volcanic matcha set 𓂃 dry wheat

one of the pieces from my ongoing exploration of earthy textures.

i made it from dark, volcanic-inspired stoneware and finished it with a glaze that reminds me of warm, sun-kissed fields of wheat in summer.

i left parts of the clay raw, with loose brushstrokes of glaze across the surface. the clay itself is full of tiny stones, which i carve into by hand to reveal more of its texture.

it was about having a few more cups with me… for spontaneous tea moments under birch trees to happen ~
whenever i would go to sit with tea during our retreat this June, i would invite anyone on my way to join. and here we gathered, just like that, in silence with tea and its magic of bringing people together.
