The petrol lamp - which is one popular traditional lighting in Indonesia - represents PIDJAR's emitting passion in supporting and introducing Southeast Asian cinema, especially Indonesian cinema, in vibrant metropolis Berlin. Its goal is to create an exciting platform for filmmakers and film enthusiasts to explore and discover the electrifying film scenes and new talents from Southeast Asia. Origi

nally, PIDJAR was a well-received film festival aimed for Indonesian students in Germany - first launched in 2013 through a dynamic collaboration with Indonesian Student Organization in Berlin (PPI Berlin). Since then PIDJAR has evolved into an independent film community of its own, organized by a mix of Indonesian youngsters, mainly based in Berlin, who try their best to represent the independent Indonesian and Southeast Asian cinema. Continually, PIDJAR organizes film events, where cinematic experience and cultural exchanges merge. Here, films of various genres are screened, followed by Q&A sessions with the filmmakers, to explore the topic, idea, motivation and technical aspects of the films. Crew:
