Sunlight streams through the glass roof of Das Glashaus, creating a changing backdrop for the TAKT furniture throughout the day.

Set in the countryside north of Berlin, the weekend house is designed around the landscape, with open views and a close connection between inside and outside.

The house offers a place to spend time in the countryside and enjoy the nearby forests, lakes and changing landscape.

What makes Leap® suitable for furniture?

Leap® is designed as a high-performance upholstery material, going through the same abrasion, tear and flex testing as traditional leather.

It starts with apple pulp rather than animal hide, and the production process does not involve a tanning step. The material combines its distinctive hand feel with the durability and finish needed for everyday furniture.

For TAKT, Leap® is available in black and cognac on selected chairs.

From material to furniture.
Leap® was developed by Danish material company Beyond Leather Materials, and TAKT was the first furniture brand to launch the material for furniture.

From the beginning, we worked closely with Beyond Leather Materials to help develop and mature Leap® for use in furniture. Together, we explored how the material could perform in a furniture context while retaining its distinctive tactile expression.

Today, Leap® is available on selected TAKT chairs, bringing an alternative approach to traditional leather upholstery.

What if a leftover material could become part of something made to last?

Leap® is a vegan-certified upholstery material developed by Danish material company Beyond Leather Materials, made with upcycled leftover apples and available on selected TAKT chairs. The material gives a new purpose to a resource that would otherwise be left behind.⁠

For TAKT, the choice of material is an important part of the design. Leap® brings a distinct tactile expression to our furniture, while offering an alternative to traditional leather upholstery.

A tribute to wood.

It all starts in the forest.
At TAKT, we love wood. We love its warmth, its strength and the natural character found in every grain. Every piece of wood carries its own character, in its grain, its colour and the subtle variations shaped by nature.

For us, these qualities are part of what makes wood such an enduring material for furniture. From the forest to the finished piece, we work with its natural characteristics rather than against them, shaping it with care while allowing the material itself to remain at the heart of the design.

Across our collection, we use wood from FSC™-certified forests. Bow Chair is one example. Carefully shaped into its curved form, the wood gives the chair both its character and strength, bringing the qualities of the material into the everyday moments it becomes part of.

Because a piece of furniture may begin in the forest, but its story continues in the home.
