Southend-on-Sea: El cierre de una evolución (2023-2024)

David me contactó inicialmente para proyectar las áreas principales de su hogar en Inglaterra: lounge, cocina, área de lavado, gimnasio, escaleras y oficina. Fue mi segundo proyecto de vivienda completa en Fiverr y el inicio de un proceso que hoy llega a su etapa final tras recorrer los dormitorios y el baño.

Llegar al núcleo de esta casa significó abrazar el cambio. Lo que en 2023 era un material "prohibido", en 2024 se convirtió en el protagonista: el nogal profundo en listones y paneles 3D flexibles. El resultado es un diseño camaleónico que responde a dos realidades.

De día, el lounge y la cocina son un refugio familiar, amplio y bañado por luz natural. De noche, la atmósfera se transforma. Gracias a la iluminación LED integrada y los tonos Charcoal Drift, el espacio adquiere la sofisticación de un pub británico o el lounge de un hotel, invitando a compartir una bebida junto a la chimenea.

Este proyecto demuestra que el valor de un espacio surge de las preguntas correctas y de la honestidad para cambiar el rumbo cuando el bienestar lo exige.

Southend-on-Sea: The closure of an evolution (2023-2024)

David initially contacted me to design the main areas of his home in England: the lounge, kitchen, laundry, gym, stairs, and office. It was my second full-house project on Fiverr and the start of a process that today reaches its final stage after exploring the bedrooms and the bathroom.

Reaching the core of this house meant embracing change. What was a "forbidden" material in 2023 became the protagonist in 2024: deep walnut slats and flexible 3D panels. The result is a chameleonic design that responds to two realities.

By day, the lounge and kitchen are a spacious family sanctuary bathed in natural light. By night, the atmosphere transforms. Thanks to integrated LED lighting and Charcoal Drift tones, the space acquires the sophistication of a British pub or a hotel lounge, inviting you to share a drink by the fireplace.

This project demonstrates that the value of a space arises from the right questions and the honesty to change course when well-being demands it.

La honestidad guía mi proceso. Analizo este proyecto de 2023: mi segunda vivienda en Fiverr (Southend-on-Sea, England).

El reto: mantener una línea clásico-moderna (molduras y carpinterías). Estos dormitorios fueron mis mayores desafíos creativos y metodológicos de aquel momento.

Dormitorio 1 (Slides 1-2): Logramos optimizar el espacio, pero hoy mi mirada es más crítica. Priorizaría la salud: luz adaptada a ritmos circadianos e higiene visual del calzado.

Dormitorio 2 (Slides 3-4): Lección de escucha activa. Fue un proceso 'a ciegas' entre piezas industriales y visiones difusas del usuario.

No busco perfección, sino mejora constante basada en evidencia. Mis diseños pasados cimentan lo que soy hoy: alguien que entiende la biología de quien habita el espacio.

Cuéntame cómo te sientes en tus espacios, cómo se siente tu cuerpo dentro de tu dormitorio; si te sientes plena, si sientes paz, si sientes que flotas cada vez que entras. Si no es así, yo puedo ayudarte a lograr esa sensación de bienestar en tu mente y cuerpo, en tu habitación o en cualquier otro rincón que necesites.

Honesty is my foundation. Analyzing this 2023 project: my second home on Fiverr (Southend-on-Sea, England).

The challenge: a classic-modern narrative. These rooms were my biggest creative and methodological constraints.

Bedroom 1 (Slides 1-2): Reasonable layout, but today I’d prioritize health: circadian lighting and visual hygiene for footwear.

Bedroom 2 (Slides 3-4): A lesson in active listening. Without today’s tools, it was a 'blind' process amidst industrial pieces and vague visions.

I aim for evidence-based improvement. Past designs define who I am: a designer who understands the biology of the person inhabiting the space.

Tell me how you feel in your spaces, how your body feels within your bedroom; if you feel whole, if you feel peace, if you feel like you're floating every time you walk in. If not, I can help you achieve that sense of well-being in your mind and body, in your room, or in any other corner you need.

How do you feel in your home's transition spaces? Are they just places to "pass through," or do they invite you to stay for a moment?

In 2023, David hired me for his lounge in Southend-on-Sea, England. We ended up designing the whole home, including this transition area. We opened this dark space to create a 'lung of light' and an integrated office between the social zone and bedrooms.

We kept the classic-modern line but with a cleaner feel. The desk and sideboard, though classic in design, feel modern through their finish, allowing a fluid flow. A detail: I envisioned the desk facing the window, but David preferred it otherwise. Design is a dialogue, and that choice made the space his perfect sanctuary.

¿Cómo te sientes en los espacios de paso de tu casa? ¿Son solo lugares para "llegar" o te invitan a quedarte un momento?

En 2023, David me contactó para su lounge en Southend-on-Sea, England. La conexión fue tan buena que terminamos proyectando la casa completa, incluyendo este espacio de transición que antes era cerrado y oscuro. Lo abrimos para que funcionara como un "pulmón de luz" y oficina integrada entre la zona social y los dormitorios.

Mantuvimos la línea clásico-moderna con un enfoque más limpio. El aparador y el escritorio, aunque de diseño clásico, se sienten modernos por su acabado, permitiendo un tránsito fluido. Un detalle: aunque mi idea técnica era orientar el escritorio a la ventana, David prefirió colocarlo de espaldas. El diseño es un diálogo y esa decisión hizo que el espacio fuera su refugio ideal.

🏗️ Proyecto en Puerto Plata, 2023

Este cliente me contactó con un reto interesante: tenía varios diseños en mente y necesitaba organizarlos dentro de un terreno.

Me encargué de:
✔️ Distribuir los espacios dentro de las casas y su disposición en el terreno
✔️ Incluir escaleras, variantes y un ascensor
✔️ Modelar todo en 3D y crear renders del complejo completo

No hice el diseño arquitectónico, pero sí convertí sus ideas en planos claros, funcionales y visuales.

This client came with several ideas and needed to organize them into one plot.

I worked on:
✔️ Organize the interior layouts of the houses and their placement on the lot
✔️ Stair variants and elevator integration
✔️ Full 3D modeling and realistic renders

I didn’t create the architectural design, but I translated the concept into clear, functional visuals.

📌Hay cosas que no se olvidan. Esta fue una de ellas.

En noviembre del 2022, mis primeros clientes, una pareja en Uruguay, me contactaron por Fiverr para ayudarles a visualizar su cocina ideal.

Anteriormente les habían mostrado un diseño de cómo sería su cocina, pero no estaban conformes.

Lo primero que hice fue enviarles unas preguntas claves para entenderlos mejor y saber exactamente lo que buscaban, su estilo de vida y referencias.

A partir de esas respuestas y conversaciones posteriores, entendí que eran personas ocupadas, lo que no les gustaba, cómo querían habitar ese espacio, que buscaban funcionalidad y algo con más carácter.

Ellos ya tenían claro lo que necesitaban.
Yo me encargué de traducirlo en diseño.

Este año, les escribí para saber si habían podido construir la cocina… y si podían mostrarme cómo había quedado.

Y cuando vi las fotos, pasé por muchas emociones. 😂

Primero, quede anonadada porque el resultado final quedó igual o casi igual al los renders del diseño que les entregué, muy pocas cosas eran diferentes.

Segundo, mi corazón se llenó de alegría al saber que hice un buen trabajo al entregarle a mis clientes algo real, que fuera exactamente lo que ellos buscaban y que pudieran ejecutar, que todo les funcionó perfectamente como lo planeamos.

Entonces me dí cuenta de que sí, puedo hacerlo, si puedo ayudar y a aportarles un granito a sus vidas con mi trabajo como diseñadora.

Y eso es lo que más me llena y la razón por la cual persistí para continuar haciendo lo que me gusta, para entregar los mejores resultados para mis clientes.

📌There are some things you don't forget. This was one of them.

In November 2022, my first clients, a couple in Uruguay, contacted me via Fiverr to help them visualize their ideal kitchen. They had previously been shown a design for their kitchen but weren't happy with it.

The first thing I did was send them some key questions to understand them better and know exactly what they were looking for, their lifestyle, and their references.

From those answers and subsequent conversations, I understood that they were busy people, what they didn't like, how they wanted to inhabit that space, and that they were looking for functionality and something with more character. They already knew what they needed; I was in charge of translating it into a design.

This year, I wrote to them to see if they had been able to build the kitchen... and if they could show me how it turned out.

When I saw the photos, I went through many emotions. First, I was amazed because the final result was the same or almost the same as the design renders I delivered; very few things were different. Second, my heart was filled with joy knowing that I did a good job by delivering something real to my clients—something that was exactly what they were looking for, that they could execute, and that everything worked perfectly as we planned.

That's when I realized that yes, I can do it. I can help and contribute a little something to their lives with my work as a designer. And that's what fulfills me the most and the reason why I persisted in continuing to do what I love, to deliver the best results for my clients.
