I explored the vibrant ethnic food scene of Northern Virginia with a visit to Bombay Canteen . ✨
From the moment I walked in, the wafting spices and vivid colors transported me back to festive lunches with Indian friends in Singapore. 🌿 The ambiance is warm and convivial—the kind of place that invites you to linger.
We started with vegan sliders and refreshing samosas wrapped in a delicate yogurt sauce, served in charming traditional vessels. That dish was my favorite. 🤍
Next came crispy curry chicken, coated in chickpea flour for the perfect crunch, paired with a bright cilantro sauce. 🌶️ The biryani delivered fork tender meat and fluffy rice. Overall, the dish is decadent and fragrant.
The lamb kebab was slightly overcooked for my taste, with a stronger flavor than I prefer—perhaps balanced with a touch of dried mint.
And then, my favorite: butter chicken. The sauce was silky and rich, and the chicken perfectly tender. 🧡
To finish, a mango lassi—cool, refreshing, and the perfect way to end the meal. 🥭
If you’re exploring the DMV food scene, add Bombay Canteen to your list—and pick a sunny day to enjoy their inviting patio. ☀️
