I spent last Friday visiting Casa Decor 2026 in Madrid and honestly, I left feeling incredibly inspired.
One thing became very clear to me throughout the exhibition:
Luxury interiors are becoming more emotional again.
For years, many high-end spaces focused mainly on visual perfection. Beautiful spaces, yes but often spaces that felt cold, untouchable, or disconnected from real life.
This year felt different.
I saw:
🌿 more natural and tactile materials
🌿 bold earthy colours replacing safe neutrals
🌿 sculptural lighting used almost like art
🌿 immersive sensory experiences
🌿 a much deeper connection between wellbeing and design
As a bold biophilic interior designer, this shift feels very important to me because I truly believe our homes should do more than simply look beautiful.
They should support us emotionally too.
The spaces I connected with most were not necessarily the most extravagant ones. They were the spaces that made people slow down, breathe, feel calm, inspired, grounded, or simply more connected.
To me, this is where the future of luxury design is heading:
beautiful homes designed around wellbeing, nature, personality, and emotional experience not just aesthetics.
Casa Decor 2026 confirmed something I’ve believed for years:
Nature is no longer an accessory in design.
It’s becoming the foundation of how many people want to live today.
I’d love to know — what makes a space feel truly luxurious to you nowadays?
