Cherry Storehouse Nuglar⁣
The project reveals a refined brutalist aesthetic, defined by the honest use of exposed concrete, natural wood, and large glazed surfaces. The interiors explore a raw and minimalist materiality, where natural light, textures, and proportions play a central role. Elements such as the linear kitchen, continuous openings, and geometric details create a quiet, functional, and deeply architectural atmosphere, balancing structural robustness with visual warmth.

A residence in Spain thoughtfully transformed through a renovation that introduces contemporary design while honoring the architectural heritage rooted in the space.

The project celebrates the structure’s original character, maintaining stone masonry walls rich in texture, history, and authenticity. The design approach establishes a harmonious dialogue between old and new.

Minimal lines, updated volumes, and modern interventions blend seamlessly with the existing features, creating a timeless atmosphere shaped by respect for the building’s identity and a deep appreciation for honest, natural materials.

This residence is defined by a restrained material palette and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. Exposed concrete, weathered steel, and dark wood create a warm yet monolithic composition, where architecture and nature feel carefully balanced.⁣

Large sliding glass panels dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior spaces, allowing natural light, reflections, and vegetation to become part of the living experience. The open-plan interiors, double-height volumes, and custom wooden shelving reinforce a sense of calm, continuity, and understated luxury throughout the project.⁣

In Bangkok, Only Human Studio designed the H168 House as an architectural interpretation of the spatial atmosphere found in traditional Chinese paintings, where courtyards, passageways, and carefully framed views reveal themselves gradually like a cinematic sequence of spaces.

A strong central spine separates the residential and workspace areas while still maintaining a visual connection between them through openings and layered sightlines, creating a fluid and carefully orchestrated living experience.

The building dates from 1966, a product of Spain's 1959 Stabilisation Plan: minimal, compartmentalised, designed for the nuclear family and nothing else. The Unplanned Domestic Prototype refuses that logic at every turn. A 175-degree curved wall of handmade glazed ceramic tiles reorganises the entire plan, integrating kitchen, storage, bathroom, and mirrored cabinetry into one continuous gesture. A sandstone portal cut through it exposes the geological layers of the local stone in section. The island is on wheels. The kitchen island lifts to adjust height. The stools are made from tree roots. The second bathroom is steel and mesh.⁣

Studio in Arzignano
AMAA

architecture as transformation
The project reimagines a former industrial structure as a working space for the studio. The approach focuses on reduction, retaining the existing framework and its spatial essence.

space as flow
The interior unfolds as a continuous open hall where multiple functions take place simultaneously. By eliminating permanent partitions, the space remains adaptable and open to change over time.

light as generator
Daylight filters in through skylights and carefully placed openings, shaping the atmosphere within. Light enhances the perception of depth while highlighting the volume of the space.

honest materials
Brick, concrete, and steel are kept visible, celebrating the building’s original fabric. Interventions are restrained, allowing the industrial identity to remain intact.

architecture as process
The studio operates as a space where designing and making intersect, embodying AMAA’s vision of architecture as an evolving and ongoing practice.

This intervention highlights the original structure of the duplex, with exposed beams and light-colored masonry, preserving its identity and sense of spaciousness. In contrast, contemporary elements—such as wood joinery and a metal island—organize the space and create a strong focal point. The result is an elegant balance between old and new, forming a functional, light-filled, and well-lit environment.⁣

The apartment "Alexandra et Pascal"⁣
A Parisian apartment where architecture turns the view into the main character. The skylight frames the iconic like a living piece of art, while natural light floods the minimalist interior, warming the wood tones and enhancing the elegance of the space. Between the sky and the city, living here means inhabiting an ever-changing scene.⁣

This project reveals an architecture that dissolves the boundaries between interior and exterior, creating an immersive and sensory spatial experience. The strong presence of vegetation—both in the internal gardens and the suspended planters—transforms the house into a tropical microclimate, where light, shadow, and natural ventilation are carefully orchestrated.

The material palette combines exposed brick, concrete, and wood in a precise balance between rusticity and sophistication. Wooden shutters and frames allow for light control and privacy, while reinforcing the connection with the natural surroundings. On the ground floor, the reflecting pool and stepping stone pathways create a gentle transition between spaces, bringing freshness and tranquility to the experience.

The heart of the house is revealed in the integrated living area, where the exposed concrete staircase takes on a sculptural role, contrasting with the lightness of the wooden furniture. Overhead lighting and internal voids enhance the sense of openness, turning the architecture into more than just a shelter—it becomes a living environment in constant dialogue with nature.
