This entrance hall didn’t need rebuilding. It needed reimagining.

We replaced the dark floor tiles with a lighter stone used throughout the property, painted the timber, enclosed the upper staircase to create a cleaner architectural line and exchanged the heavy wooden balustrade for a simple iron railing.

The result is a brighter, more spacious entrance that feels effortlessly contemporary while still respecting the character of the original home.

The walls were deliberately left uncluttered, creating a gallery-like backdrop where the client’s art collection could become the focal point.

Good design isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes, it is about stripping away the visual noise and creating the perfect canvas for the things you truly love.

A year ago, I stood in this garden to show you the finished transformation. Now feels like the perfect time to return and see how beautifully it has settled into its surroundings.

This seafront home in Puerto Pollensa was designed for relaxed family living, and the exterior spaces were always an important part of that. Comfortable furniture that can be moved and rearranged, plenty of places to gather, and, most importantly in August, a cool, shady spot from which to enjoy the garden and the views across Pollensa Bay.

A beautiful outdoor space should never simply be something you look at from inside. It should invite you to slow down, sit comfortably and enjoy the way you live in Mallorca.

A home isn’t sold on square metres alone. It’s sold on how it makes people feel.

When developing an investment property, the furniture, lighting and accessories should never be treated as an afterthought. A realistic interiors budget needs to be part of the plan from the outset.

Thoughtful furnishing and styling help buyers understand how the spaces work, but more importantly, they allow them to imagine a life there. An empty terrace is simply an area outside. A beautifully designed terrace becomes morning coffee, long lunches and evenings spent with friends.

That emotional connection is what turns a well-built property into a desirable home.

If you’re planning a new development or show home in Mallorca, involve your interior designer early. The best results come when the architecture and interiors are considered together from the very beginning.

More than 12 years ago, I designed this colourful holiday home in Mallorca for the first generation of the family.

Years later, their daughters invited me back.

The home was still loved, but family life had changed. There were now children and grandchildren to accommodate, larger gatherings to consider and a desire for something more relaxed, contemporary and practical.

Rather than replacing everything, I kept many of the elements that gave the villa its personality. The original Missoni curtains remained, much-loved furniture was painted or reupholstered, and new wallpapers, lighting and colour-drenched walls brought the interiors up to date.

Bedrooms were redesigned to work for children and regular guests, bathrooms were modernised and the terrace was reconfigured to give the whole family more space to relax together.

The result still feels like the home I first designed, but evolved for a new generation.

For me, that is one of the most rewarding parts of interior design: creating homes that can grow and change with the families who live in them.
