Testing a little details and size vs visibility and depth for the naked eye.. one thing is what looks alright on photos but what looks good for the naked eye can be very different..

I didn’t measure but that blue plastic bead on my graver is around 3 mm I think. Some details probably not necessary, but very fun.. and quite time consuming. Different details might work better..

Interesting how some can’t get their graver hitting and digging hard enough and others are constantly chasing the very fine line.. sometimes almost invisible.

Only practice will make it better..

I guess that´s it for 2025.. well see what 26 will bring..

I’m certainly not sure anymore.. of course for some with a good base will survive, and a very very few new will get trough the needle eye, but for the rest I’m really not sure. What do you think?

Green Gold, pendant engraving..

I guess some of you might have seen it on my YouTube so just skip it.. if not, have a look :-)

Got some 18 karat green gold wire. Not too much so I had to plan well.. obviously the more wide inlays first and I used a draw plate the more thin the inlays got. The most narrow ones was about 0,2 mm - 0,3 mm.. The scary part was if there would be any problem with the more wide inlays, it would probably be too little to remelt and make a new wider wire.. but all turned out well. Still got it up for sale..

It´s a bit old, but it´s gold..

Only 14 karat but has a rich story! :-)

I think I have normal size hands and for me it´s a pinky finger sized ring, so it was quite some detailed work at the time, but a fun project.

Everything is a unique design for this ring, including the monogram. Do you see the monogram letters? :-)

Well, I guess we are all different.. Personally I think to learn and be able to draw and understand what you are drawing/engraving is everything..

When I started, my scrolls looked really weird with leafs growing everywhere.. it´s getting better and I´m still learning and hopefully always will.. That´s the fun part.. Learning to engrave is the very easy part.

What´s your thoughts? 🙂

Maybe a little overkill in the microscope, but looks pretty ok with the naked eye in real size.. no need for crosshatching.

What do you think? (Even though you can´t see it for real) :-)
