Is my printer broken? 🔧🫠
3D printing has its boundaries, and usually, the slicer is what keeps us within them. But sometimes, it’s worth letting your imagination run wild and allowing your printer some 'mischief' outside the standard rules.
The Process: Instead of a fixed STL, the geometry is built as a surface that defines the motion path. Unlike a regular slicer, Non-planar 3D printing allows the nozzle to follow the actual curves of the model, turning "defects" into deliberate patterns.
By generating Custom Gcode, I synchronize non-linear extrusion with precise movement speeds. This algorithmic approach creates those Seamless textures and unique Light diffusion patterns that are impossible with standard software. It’s a mix of Computational design and Functional 3D printing that pushes hardware to its absolute limit.
Stop hiding your seams. Start designing them. 💡
