Frequently asked questions about Viisto KAL⏩️
How do I join the KAL? Well, first buy the pattern (called Viisto) on Ravelry or my webshop. And start knitting!
To join the KAL community:
✅ you can chat in my Ravelry group (called Where We Once Knitted)
✅ or in our IG group chat (link in my stories)
✅ post photos/videos of your progress. If you tag me, I’ll share them in my stories.❤️
✅ watch my video tutorials and live shows here on IG.
All the info and links can be found on my profile in Viisto highlight.
Am I too late if I jump in now? Definitely not! When you buy the pattern you get to start with the back of the sweater. The first part of the front will be released on August 10th and all you need finished by then is the top part of the back piece so that you can pick up sts from the shoulders.👌
I’ve been getting lot of questions if you only get part 1 now, do you have to pay for every part separately. No! You pay only once and will be getting updates in your email when new parts of the pattern are released.
Then we have the yardage tables (which you can see on the pattern page even before buying). And folks have been asking about the stripe yardages.
When the table says you need 12 grams of C2&C3 for stripe 1 that means 12 g of C2 for the right front and 12 g of C3 for the left front. So you need that amount for each yarn!
The stripe colours are called C2 for right front and C3 for left front but you can use a different colour for every single stripe. Both fronts have 5-8 stripes depending on your size so that could be 10-16 different colours. Or you can rotate a smaller number of colours like I’ve done with my sweaters.
The pattern calls for merino singles but you can use any fi*****ng weight yarn. Many of my test knitters have used regular sock yarns.
And finally, I’ve been asked both if the pattern will be available after the KAL is over and will the participants get a final, complete pattern. Yes and yes! I’m releasing the pattern in parts for the KAL but once the KAL is done I will upload a complete all-in-one pattern pdf and it will remain available in my shops.
I hope this
