A seat at Klara's table

Klara's Table is a Copenhagen-based studio working between food and design, bringing taste, atmosphere, objects and light together to shape a moment. Together with Louis Poulsen, we sat down with founder Klara Marie Jespersen, who believes the most memorable tables encourage conversation, curiosity and a sense of ease.

"I like when a table feels generous rather than performative – when people reach across it, share things and make themselves at home."

Today we celebrate Tove Jansson's birthday – and Moomin’s Day 🥂

Tove loved islands. Tiny, lonely islands where adventure felt possible. Together with her life partner, artist Tuulikki "Tooti" Pietilä, she found the isolated islet of Klovharu far out in the Finnish archipelago – and set about getting a building permit. One evening, a local fisherman came ashore and told them that a permit for such a place seemed unlikely. But by law, a building already standing cannot be torn down. So they decided to start building immediately 🪚

That same rebellious spirit runs through Moomin Arabia's new Rebel Club collection – celebrating the Moomins and their friends at their most untamed.

One of the best parts of what we do is spotting pieces from our selection in real homes:

Here, an elegant home starring Ingo Maurer’s Floatation pendant, a living room with carefully collected pieces along with Vitra's Eames RAR rocking chair and LTR Occasional table, and a furry friend enjoying Artemide’s Nessino table lamp.

Gustav Winsth's reflections on steel

In Stockholm-based designer Gustav Winsth's studio, VR tools meet hands-on fabrication. During a visit to a metal workshop, he noticed what appeared to be broken shards of mirror scattered across a table – pieces of polished stainless steel, so reflective they were nearly indistinguishable from traditional mirrors. That moment led to the Pleat Mirror: a deceptively simple design fabricated from a single sheet of steel, now produced by Muuto – reflecting both his engineering background and hands-on approach to making.

Alvar Aalto’s architecture is now world heritage

Comprising 13 sites designed by Alvar, Aino and Elissa Aalto, the Aalto Works series is Finland's eighth addition to the UNESCO World Heritage List – joining the already recognised sites of Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright. Following a modernist approach, most of the sites were built on a holistic design philosophy, where the Aaltos designed not only the buildings themselves but also the furniture and interiors.

At home with Ida Lauga

A small 1960s brick rowhouse in Stockholm comfortably fits a family of three kids, two pets, a French husband and an ever-evolving interior. We visited stylist and designer Ida Lauga together with Vaarnii, whose pieces move through the home like works of art – but ones you can climb on and build blanket forts with.

One of the best parts of what we do is spotting pieces from our selection in real homes:

Here, a Danish dining room with Artek's Aalto table and chairs, a softly curated home office warmed by Vitra's Akari lamps, and a living room where Martinelli Luce's Pipistrello lamp crowns a collection built over time.
