We are delighted to announce that 7132 Hotel has been awarded the STANNEL Diamond List Award for exceptional architecture and design. โœจ

Set in the village of Vals, 1,252 metres above sea level in the Swiss Alps, the hotel brings together the work of Peter Zumthor, Kengo Kuma, Tadao Ando and Thom Mayne of Morphosis, each exploring a different relationship between architecture, material and landscape.

Exposed concrete and sculptural forms introduce a Brutalist sensibility, while mountain views connect the interiors to their Alpine setting. Architecture shapes the experience, from the individual character of the rooms to the ritual of bathing.

At the heart of the complex lies Zumthorโ€™s Therme Vals, where layers of stone, warm thermal water and carefully directed light create a deeply sensory environment. The weight of the materials, the sound of water and the changing light invite a slower rhythm.

The baths recently returned to the spotlight through Wim Wendersโ€™ documentary From Inside Out: The Architecture of Peter Zumthor, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
