Vase "Meditation."
It took me a while to finish as, unlike my usual process, this time, the form changed in the middle of creating.
It has become a representation of inner life, the invisible struggle in search for serenity.
Thoughts and feelings running, fidgeting, creating waves, and not letting to stop.
Heavy calmness, silent stillness of the stoneware is grounding and stabilising.
Breathe in, breathe out, carry on.

Ideas like this one happen to be quite persistent: once I thought of vases with belly rolls, I could calm down until I made them. These can be given some profound meaning (the artist touches sensitive topics of body positivity, standards of beauty, wilst at the same time pondering over the idea of body as a vessel). 

Otherwise, we may consider them a ceramist's joke.

The last of the Dancing Vases. Seen by .senechal .
It was the series I made during my adaptation to the new life abroad. Having lost the usual points of support, in the world that was shifting and living situation constantly changing, I had to remain stable for my daughter.
It turns out, when everything is moving, not to fall, you need to be dancing.
My ceramic vessels of that period represent this kind of mentality.
Having no symmetry or logic, but balanced.

The year started with a beautiful project initiated by the city of Camaret-sur-Mer. Local artists were asked to give their creative vision of La Tour Vauban, a tower built in 1693 as part of fortifications of the French seashore. I started with the thought that once reliable and menacing, now 332 years old tower defends nobody today. On the contrary, the citizens are the ones protecting it. The dangers of the modern world can hardly be held back by sturdy stone constructions. However, our ability to stand together, human connection, and mutual help are the forces that still help us nowadays. These values I see every day with gratitude in the people of Camaret-sur-Mer. This is how I came up with the idea of La Tour de Solidarité. The architectural form of the tower is represented in my sculpture by the figures of four people holding each other in a friendly embrace. A composition speaking of support, trust, and caring about each other and our future.

L'année a débuté par un magnifique projet initié par la ville de Camaret-sur-Mer. Des artistes locaux ont été invités à donner leur vision créative de la Tour Vauban, une tour construite en 1693 pour les fortifications du littoral français. Je suis parti du constat que cette tour, autrefois fiable et menaçante, vieille de 332 ans, ne défend plus personne aujourd'hui. Au contraire, ce sont les citoyens qui la protègent. Les dangers du monde moderne peuvent difficilement être contenus par de solides constructions en pierre. Cependant, notre solidarité, les liens humains et l'entraide sont les forces qui nous soutiennent encore aujourd'hui. Ces valeurs, je les retrouve chaque jour avec gratitude chez les habitants de Camaret-sur-Mer. C'est ainsi qu'est née l'idée de La Tour de Solidarité. La forme architecturale de la tour est représentée dans ma sculpture par les silhouettes de quatre personnes se tenant amicalement. Une composition qui exprime le soutien, la confiance et l'attention portée à chacun et à notre avenir.
