💔 A little honesty from behind the creations…
Today, I'm finding it difficult to write these words, but I think it's time to be honest about what's happening behind the scenes.
Whether I'm making resin creations, working with beautiful shells or designing digital artwork, I put time, effort, creativity and a little piece of myself into everything I do.
I've tried different techniques, explored new ideas, created calendars, colouring books and printable artwork, and constantly looked for new ways to share and sell my work. I've kept trying, hoping that eventually things would take a turn for the better.
But the reality is that the likes are few, the shares are rare, the interaction is almost nonexistent, and sales simply aren't coming in.
And now, things have become much more difficult.
My application for financial support to develop my small business was unsuccessful, and next month my unemployment benefits will come to an end. In just a few weeks, I'll be left without that income, with bills to pay and no reliable source of money coming in.
I can't even afford to buy new resin at the moment to continue making my creations.
I'm not sharing this for pity, nor do I expect anyone to buy something they don't need or cannot afford. I know everyone has their own struggles and financial responsibilities.
But I would be lying if I said I wasn't exhausted, worried and deeply discouraged.
I've worked hard for years, trying to build something of my own, despite health problems and setbacks that have made things considerably harder. I've tried to adapt, to learn, to create something different whenever one approach hasn't worked.
But passion alone doesn't pay the bills. Creativity doesn't put food on the table, and hard work doesn't guarantee that anyone will ever see what you do.
Sometimes, when you put so much of yourself into something and receive so little in return, you begin to wonder whether it's time to stop.
I honestly don't know what the future holds for my little business. I may have to put my creations aside and concentrate on finding a job, because right now, securing a stable income has to come first.
And that breaks my heart a little, because creating has been such an important part of my life.
If you've ever liked, commented on, shared or purchased one of my creations, please know that I appreciate it more than you might realise. Every little bit of support has meant something to me. ❤️
And if you're a small creator who's struggling too, please know that you're not alone. Behind every little business is a real person, with bills to pay, worries to carry and dreams they're trying desperately to keep alive.
Sometimes, all we're asking for is a little visibility, a little encouragement, and a chance to keep going.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. ❤️
