A project that led me beyond my usual path.

I created a marbled paper for this beautiful book, which tells the story of an extraordinary journey in a Beetle car from the Congo to Brussels. This project encouraged me to explore a different aesthetic direction in my work. I am very grateful to have been part of this journey.

Les savoir exposés parmi le travail d’autres artisans talentueux est toujours une émotion particulière.

🇬🇧This marbled paper was made quite some time ago, at a moment when this limited edition of The Faery Handbag by Kelly Link was still a project in progress.
It is always a pleasure to see one of my marbled papers, once finished, continue its journey elsewhere, far from my creative space.

This edition of the Boek Ambacht Beurs was truly special: it marked the return of my handmade marbled papers to bookbinding fairs after a long hiatus. Despite a limited stock due to health reasons, this event was particularly meaningful to me and went remarkably well on many levels - new location, encounters both new and familiar, and artistry so moving it could bring tears to one’s eyes. Sincere thanks to the organisers for their professionalism and kindness, and to everyone who has supported - and continues to support - my small craft business. Now it’s time to rest and take it all in.

To all the wonderful people who follow this page and support my work: thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️ This year has been exceptionally challenging for me, and I had less time to spend on social media. So, rather than sharing a of posts, I’d like to share my Top 9 list of things I am grateful for from this year:
1️⃣ I’m thrilled to have had my research published again and to have co-authored a new book! 📚
2️⃣ Despite having less time for work, my business continued to grow—a true blessing I am deeply grateful for. 
3️⃣ I leaned on amazing friends who helped me navigate difficult times. True friendship is priceless. 💕
4️⃣ I discovered new places and had the chance to nurture some of my passions along the way. 
5️⃣ Hard times taught me resilience. I feel stronger and more capable of facing challenges than ever before. 💪
6️⃣ I have a brand-new studio, which I’ll proudly share with you all next year. 
7️⃣ I organised a bookbinding exhibition that brought my passions to life in the most fulfilling way. 📖
8️⃣ I learned new marbling techniques and continued to grow my skills. 
9️⃣ I strengthened relationships with fellow marblers and bookbinders, building a community I cherish.

You know me for my marbled papers, but my work sometimes takes me in different directions. I recently contributed an essay to a book about a stunning ceramic collection once owned by Belgian painter Léopold Speekaert, now housed in the beautiful Hôtel de Ville of Saint-Gilles, Brussels.
Last week, we celebrated the project’s presentation, honouring the history and artistry behind this treasure. Research like this deepens my connection to craftsmanship and fuels my creativity in the studio.
