A bathroom shaped by material, texture and a contemporary interpretation of minimalism.
For Fontaine, our latest project in the Luberon, we wanted to create a warm and unexpected space, balancing refined simplicity with bold creative choices. Polished concrete, travertine, hammered oak and natural jute come together in a tactile and harmonious material palette.
The travertine vanity, combined with polished concrete doors, keeps the composition clean and understated, allowing the more expressive elements of the room to stand out. Curves are also central to the design, echoing the arches found throughout the house and creating a natural dialogue with its existing architecture.
The hand-crafted clay bathtub brings a sculptural simplicity to the space, while the true focal point is the bespoke ceramic floor, created in collaboration with Marion Graux Poterie . Conceived almost as a work of art, its colours, textures and irregularities bring personality and depth to the room.
We deliberately kept the architecture restrained to let the floor take centre stage — creating a dialogue between contemporary minimalism, craftsmanship and the warmth of natural materials.
The result is a bathroom that balances minimalism with warmth, craftsmanship with simplicity, and contemporary lines with a deeply tactile atmosphere — a space where every material has its place, and where the details are allowed to speak.
