UNEXPECTED - One of the things I love most is seeing American interior designers interpret Parisian interiors. They bring a different perspective, noticing details we sometimes overlook because they are so familiar to us.
The straw chairs immediately caught my eye. I instinctively associate straw with French country houses, yet it feels perfectly at home in this Parisian apartment. Then there's the contrast between the raw, handcrafted quality of the straw and the glossy emerald green table. One grounds the space, the other gives it attitude. Nothing is predictable; everything is balanced.
Perhaps that's why this room resonates with me. French craftsmanship isn't about preserving the past; it's about giving it new life. Whether it's straw, embroidery, pleating, or fine linen, traditional materials become timeless when they are reinterpreted with a contemporary eye. We should not be afraid to be bold!

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN - Some of my greatest inspirations have come from my mother.
She has always kept the most beautiful things.
Her wardrobes are impeccably organized, filled with elegant clothes and unexpected treasures collected over a lifetime. Every year, my daughters and I open those closet doors, hoping to discover something we hadn't noticed before. We try on her clothes, imagine new outfits, laugh together… it's become one of our favorite traditions.
One day, tucked away and carefully wrapped in tissue paper, I found a piece of fabric unlike anything I had ever seen.
It dated back to the late 1950s.
Its painterly pebbles and vibrant shades of blue and green immediately captivated me.
That discovery sparked a million ideas.
It inspired me to create the Galets collection, first as embroidered motifs for curtains, bed and bath linens, and later as decorative cushions using the original vintage fabric itself.
Looking back, I often think this was the true beginning of my journey into the world of embroidery. A journey that started not in a design studio, but in my mother's closet, where a beautiful piece of fabric had been quietly waiting for decades to inspire a new story.

SUMMER DELIGHTS - Some tables don't need much. Natural linen. Fresh citrus. A simple meal shared outdoors. Sometimes that's all summer needs.
Our Lemon collection is embroidered on linen, a fabric I chose simply because it feels right for summer. Cool to the touch, beautifully textured, and relaxed in a way that only natural fibers can be.
The rest is simply the pleasure of being together.

The kind of place that instantly puts you in vacation mode.

Perhaps that is why Paris became the City of Romance.
The city is filled with details like this, that make you pause, smile, and, if only for a moment, believe that something wonderful might be waiting just around the corner.

THE JOYOUS ENIGMA - Calder at Fondation Louis Vuitton

If you want to see what total creative freedom looks like, go see the Alexander Calder show. It spans his entire life, from the quiet, tragic beauty of his wire circus figures to his monumental stabiles, floating mobile creations, jewellery, sculptures, paintings ....

What strikes you immediately is his wild, crazy openness. He was a master of delicate lightness, shadows, and air, transforming raw sheets of metal and wires into living poetry. His work is a joyous enigma, you stand before a sculpture and wonder if you're looking at a strange animal, a cluster of leaves, or something else entirely. It’s the unfiltered realization of his mind's eye.

Calder proved that the secret to genius is simply refusing to outgrow your wonder. He stayed a kid playing with wires and scrape of metal, driven entirely by his imagination and curiosity. A powerful reminder to us all: protect your inner child, keep your eyes wide open, and the rest will follow.

THE ELEGANT STRIPE - I have a thing for stripes. Give me a striped cushion, a striped throw, a striped wall or even the shadows of a window falling across a floor, and I'm happy.
There is something endlessly chic about stripes. They don't try too hard. They aren't fussy. Yet they instantly bring rhythm, movement, and personality to a space.
What fascinates me is how differently they can be interpreted. In one room they feel tailored and architectural; in another, playful and relaxed. Sometimes they are the star of the show, sometimes they quietly tie everything together.
Looking at these interiors, it's hard not to notice how often designers return to stripes. They are one of those rare motifs that transcend trends. Centuries later, we're still finding new ways to use them.
