Here is my experience:

The market for avocado oil products has grown very quickly in the last few years. The surging demand for a product that is hard to find and expensive to make led to tons of fraudulent activities. The largest producer of avocados in the world is the state of Michoacan in Mexico- also known for being controlled by the cartels. Most of the avocado oil offered to us over the years has been fake.
