Happy special birthday to my darling husband, usually behind the camera but today rightly in the spotlight in captured snippets.
I think the audio does indeed pay tribute to him much more poetically, have a listen with the sound on!
Thank you, and 🥂 to this adventure together

Archer pots. These hard to source French pottery vessels, known as Archer Pots from their historic use with the French military, were originally utilitarian objects also used in workshops, kitchens and vineyards throughout France in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Marked with bold hand-stenciled numbers and decorated with traditional cobalt striping and sponged design, they were designed for everyday use rather than decoration, which is precisely what gives them their enduring appeal today.

Each piece carries a direct connection with the worker who’s personal number was on the pot.

They are attractive for the quiet beauty of honest craftsmanship: softly crazed glaze, hand-painted imperfections, worn typography, and a patina acquired through decades of practical use. No two examples age alike, making every vessel entirely unique.

Today, these pieces are highly sought after. Their simple graphic forms and restrained palette allow them to sit effortlessly in both rustic and contemporary homes. This country style is particularly popular in Paris at the moment.

They are both available with worldwide shipping from Paris in my Quintessentially French website

Second weekend in a row away from Paris, nowhere in the world quite measures up to home 👠👠

So for today, a time hop back a year, wandering around a pop up fleamarket and I’ll be back in Paris next week - hooray!

Regrets, I’ve had a few, as they say. But nothing haunts me like the antiques I’ve left behind at a Paris fleamarket.

The one you think about and it’s been snapped up when you go back

Can you relate?

Tell me, what do you regret not buying that has haunted you?

I hope you’re enjoying the holiday, very ☀️☀️☀️here!

With time to spend enjoying the garden in bloom, I’ve been searching out more vases to bring their beauty and scent inside, because one can of course never have enough vessels for flowers!

I have added a selection of creamers and pitchers to the Quintessentially French website, curated from the fleamarkets of Paris and beyond.

Shipped worldwide, but on my return in early June.

Why do I buy and sell antiques I love and don’t follow trends?

Antiques are forever purchases, I select carefully to enhance both my home and yours with their beauty, a charm that only gets better with age and experience.

An antique reveals its story in its slowly acquired patina, creating layers of love, for a home that is as unique as you!

I especially love my job on a relaxed day like this.

Many Parisians have left Paris ahead of the forecast heatwave for the holiday weekend, so Porte de Vanves fleamarket had a slow relaxed start.

I bought some absolutely wonderful treasures, including the painting at the end.

They will make their way to my Collectors’ List, make sure you join on the Quintessentially French website for priority notification when they arrive.

We’re off out of Paris for a week to ten days for a funeral in UK.

The website remains open, you can place an order and it will be shipped on my return. All parcels where the shipping has been paid will be departing straight after the holiday weekend.
