Why did we choose a dark colour?
My clients' dining room faces north, with plenty of windows. A lighter colour would have made it feel airy and light. Dark makes it feel intimate and comfortable, and that's the direction we chose.
Dark walls quiet a room down. They pull attention back to the table instead of the walls, so people linger and talk, not rush through a meal.
We used Graham and Brown Pisa, carried through the skirting boards and trims into the open room next door so the two spaces stay connected. With the lights on in the evening, it gives the whole space a warmer, more intimate feel, and it hides every mark my clients' two Labradors leave on the wall.
🔶If you don't love your dining room either, get in touch, and we'll sort it together.
