The colours in this headboard give it such a lovely autumnal feel.

Here’s a little look back at the headboard Jenna made on our recent course. She used Enchanted Gardens Azure velvet by Woodchip & Magnolia, and it looks so good with the scalloped shape and dark piping.

One of the fun things about upholstery is being able to get a little creative along the way!

From choosing fabrics to playing around with the finer details, there’s plenty of opportunity to put your own stamp on a chair.

Jo decided to change the original ten deep buttons to seven, giving her chair a fresh new look while keeping all the charm of its beautiful carved wooden frame.

And what a lovely combination of colours! The soft green Linwood fabric finished with a contrasting orange trim adds a little something extra. 🧡

It’s all those little decisions along the way that make upholstery so enjoyable. And having her best friend there alongside her certainly helped too! 😊

Some chairs carry far more than their own history.

Iris’s husband had stripped this iron-back chair and painted the wood before he passed away. Being trusted to take over and complete the work he had started felt incredibly special.

From the bare wood and iron, we carefully built the chair back up and upholstered it in beautiful Colefax and Fowler Kemble Forest fabric.

Knowing the story behind this chair made every stage feel that little bit more meaningful. Iris absolutely loved the chair. 🤍

Twinning is winning!

We’ve partly rebuilt these two Parker Knoll tub chairs, then reupholstered them in Linwood’s gorgeous Wild Bird fabric. Same beautiful design, two complementary colourways… don’t they look fabulous together now!

Well… one of our lovely leisure students, Sarah, has completed her Jindřich Halabala armchair! Just LOOK at those sweeping bentwood arms! 😍

When Sarah first brought the chair into class, it needed a LOT of work and had to be rebuilt from the frame upwards.

She put in the hours here and at home too. Now beautifully upholstered in this wonderful retro Liberty fabric, it looks FABULOUS! What an achievement… she absolutely smashed it! 👏🏽
