✨ A really special moment for SEND the Help CIC ✨

Last night we were honoured to receive the North Devon Diversity & Inclusion Award, and it’s honestly left me star-stuck.

When I first heard about SEND The help and Graces mission I felt like little Emma was finally seen, I knew I wanted to create spaces where young people could feel safe to express themselves creatively. What I didn’t realise was just how powerful it would be to witness that growth week by week.

Through projects like Open the Palette, we’ve seen young people arrive feeling unsure, anxious or disconnected but slowly begin to relax, experiment, laugh, make friends and find confidence through creativity.

Those moments are quiet and often invisible to the naked eye, but they matter so much.

Being part of something that prioritises belonging, understanding and emotional safety over pressure and performance is something I feel incredibly proud of.

A huge thank you to Grace, who founded and has worked tirelessly to create opportunities like this for young people and families in our community. Her vision and determination are the reason these spaces exist.

I feel incredibly lucky to be able to stand alongside her and contribute to work that is making such a genuine difference.

This award is such a wonderful recognition but the real reward is seeing the young people we support grow more confident in who they are.

And we’re only just getting started. 🤍✨

After hours of carving, the first print finally appears.
There’s always a little moment of suspense before lifting the paper and then the image comes to life.

I’m really proud to finally share my website!! 🎉

This space has been built slowly (it’s genuinely taken me over a month 😭), thoughtfully, and with a lot of care. Opening it up feels both exciting and a little bit scary.

This is my first time designing a website, so if you notice anything that isn’t working quite right, please do let me know. I’m learning as I go and always keen to improve ✨

Thank you so much for being here and for all the support — it truly means more than I can say 🧡

✂️ So now I’m cutting the ribbon and officially welcoming you to explore:

As this first cycle comes to an end, my heart feels incredibly full. 🥰

I’m so proud of every young person who showed up, tried something new, found their own way of creating, and supported each other along the way. What we’ve shared here goes far beyond the artwork — it’s been about confidence, connection, calm, and having a space where it’s okay to just be.

Watching friendships form, courage grow, and creativity unfold at each person’s own pace has been such a privilege. I hope everyone leaves this cycle knowing how valued they are knowing that there’s no one “right” way to create.

This feels like the end of a chapter, but also very much the beginning of something more. There’s so much still to come, and I’m so grateful to be part of the journey. ✨

Making things has always been part of me. Long before it became work, or pressure, or something to prove.

I hope she’s proud that I never gave up on art — or on her.

✨ A little life update ✨

I’m so excited (and honestly very grateful) to share that I’ve stepped into a new role with as Lead Creative Practitioner & Senior Facilitator 🤍

Over the past weeks, The Open Palette has shown me just how powerful creative spaces can be when they’re calm, inclusive, and shaped around individual needs.

Stepping into this role feels like an opportunity to give something back in a way that feels truly aligned. 🥰

I’m excited to help create and hold creative spaces that are calm, flexible, and genuinely shaped around the young people in them — spaces where there’s no pressure to perform, no expectation to “get it right,” and where creativity can be a tool for regulation, expression, and confidence-building.

I’m looking forward to developing sessions that meet individuals where they are, adapting in the moment, and building trust over time. To be able to combine creativity, care, and lived experience in a way that supports young people and families feels incredibly meaningful.

This role feels like a privilege and a responsibility, and I’m so grateful to be part of something that values people first, always 🌿

And to Grace… I honestly can’t thank you enough. Your belief in me, your trust, and the way you lead with both strength and compassion has meant more to me than I can properly put into words. Watching you build SEND the Help with so much care, integrity, and heart has been incredibly inspiring, and being invited to be part of that journey feels like a real privilege. 🧡

Thank you for seeing my strengths, for creating space for me to grow, and for building something that truly puts young people and families first. The work you do matters so deeply, and I’m so grateful to be learning from you and working alongside you. I feel very lucky — and very proud — to be on this journey with you 🤍
