Part 3 of Wedgwood: Craftsmanship and Export

Step inside the world of Wedgwood in 1958, as finished crockery undergoes its final inspection. Rejects are marked and broken, while the perfect pieces are carefully wrapped in straw or wood-wool and packed into massive wooden casks destined for San Francisco, Sydney, Toronto, and New York.

In the showroom, Sir John Wedgwood demonstrates the delicate translucency of fine bone china, while displays showcase Queen's Ware dinner services, tea sets, and the iconic Blue Jasper pottery. A Portland Vase is examined on a turntable, revealing its intricate design even on the base. Tables are set with beautiful Wedgwood crockery, reflecting the pride, craftsmanship, and enthusiasm of the company’s 2,000-strong workforce, bonded by decades of experience.
