POV: You walk into a restaurant… and accidentally end up ordering a £120 bottle of wine 🍷

This was never “just a room.”

At Mamma Roma, the brief was simple:
Create a space that sells the experience before the menu does.

So we designed a Whisky & Wine Room that:
– feels exclusive (without being intimidating)
– elevates perceived value instantly
– and quietly encourages guests to stay longer… and spend more

Because great design doesn’t just look good.

"The Barnsbury Road reveal almost looked completely different."

Our first instinct on this project was to go bolder: a feature wall, more layers, more colour. Then we walked into the room on a Tuesday morning when the light was coming through those original sash windows and we stopped.

The room told us exactly what it needed, and it wasn't more. We pulled back the brief, chose every piece with surgical precision, and trusted the Georgian architecture to carry the weight.

The ladder shelf, the boucle chair, the single framed artwork, each one earned its place. That editing process? That's where premium design actually lives.
