I’m trying my best to be patient but we’re still waiting on planning permission. I can’t get potting again until we’ve been granted permission to get going with our barn renovation and move our kitchen and create my new studio. Hoping to hear good news soon.

Finally got round to finishing a tonne of admin so rewarded myself with a little sit in garden, soaking in some of this glorious sunshine. And then I spotted this blossom and had to bring a little bit inside.

Not particularly proud of myself but I’ll be in here this evening, watching The Traitors. Anyone else hooked?

This was taken this morning. My youngest son’s rugby was cancelled due to the freezing weather so we holed up in the warmest room in the house, me drinking coffee, reading the newspaper and loving my impulse purchase supermarket flowers (in a Caropot of course), my son doing his prep. He has a beautiful desk in his bedroom. Painstakingly hand painted and cunningly distressed by yours truly, but never used as he always prefers to work at the kitchen table!

I really enjoyed making this wreath at the weekend with at the most inspiring venue
It’s bigger and bushier than any wreaths I’ve made before but I think it’s sits really well on our freshly painted (hardwick white) front door. This will be our first Christmas here in the Coln Valley so I’m currently having fun working out how/where best to put up the Christmas decorations. Slightly tricky though while the hall, stairs and landing are swarming with decorators and lots of surfaces are currently wet with paint! I’m not complaining though as it’s so so great to feel that we’re making good progress.

One of the things I’ve been really keen to do with this new house of ours is build some cosy corners. Especially important at this time of year. We have inherited yellow upholstered walls in our bedroom that have been beautifully done. They’re in immaculate condition and they do make the room feel very cosy. While yellow would not have been my choice of colour I’m trying to make it work for me. The lampshades only arrived yesterday from and I’m delighted with them. I’ve paired them with vintage bottles I picked up a couple of months ago from . The super pretty water glass is from , the vase is from an old collection I made for and the blossom, would you believe, I picked from our garden yesterday! I’m absolutely loving the different secrets our garden is divulging one by one as the months past. I can’t wait to see which plants or flowers reveal themselves next.

Just back from our half term break to discover the autumn colours have properly arrived in the Cotswolds. The trees with all the fiery reds and oranges are looking utterly magnificent. I also spotted these pretty Tulbaghia flowers still going strong in the garden.

So this is our current kitchen. In theory this could be my pottery studio one day! But that’s a way off and in the meantime we need to live in a way that works for us. So the island had to go to make room for a table. We may have lost useful work top/food prep space and bin space but none of that matters when we think about what we have gained. Of course all families are different, but for us, a table in the kitchen is a non negotiable because it has such an impact on how we operate and interact as a family day to day. Welcome back lovely table!

Another delivery just arrived. Thanks . All ready for negroni o’clock. Just need to source a small teak table and some really pretty cushions. Would really welcome suggestions for where I should be looking.

Location for a sunny exercise class this morning but really hoping this might be my kitchen one day. Perfect for morning sunshine, evening sunshine and fabulous access to the garden. Whatever happens, it will be no surprise to you that this room will definitely become more blue/grey and less yellow.
