Watering my own garden, one sprinkle at a time. 🌹✨
I absolutely loved the concept behind this photoshoot. Just Nevaehins behind the setup and she chose this concept because she said she’s watched my journey over the past few years and felt that my growth as an artist should be the focal point.
That really sat with me because it isn’t something I’ve paid that much attention to. Yeah I’ve noticed it but I feel like I’m constantly on the go, chasing the next goal, working on the next project and thinking about what’s next so I don’t always have the chance to stop, sit back and reflect on how far I’ve actually come.
Being part of this photoshoot made me do exactly that and when I really stopped to think about it…God is good. 🥹
Over the past few years, I’ve:
✨ Had my work featured in 3 group exhibitions
✨ Held my first solo exhibition
✨ Prepared my biggest solo art exhibition yet, coming up this October 🎟️ [check the pinned post]
✨ Received a Rising Star of the Year award
✨ Been featured on BBC News
✨ Sold artwork internationally
✨ Collaborated with Tesco for Black History Month
✨ Received an Arts Council England grant
✨ Had my mural displayed in the Mailbox
✨ Created murals for two businesses
✨ And, of course, grown in my artistic skills
When you’re in the middle of the journey, it’s so easy to focus on what you haven’t achieved yet that you forget to acknowledge what you HAVE achieved.
So this is me taking a moment to water my own garden. 🌹
Here’s to taking a moment to look back before rushing towards the next thing. 🤎✨
P.S. always comes through with the best shots 📷🥰
