Last Friday was the opening day of Veolia's new visitor centre- the discovery centre in Tyseley. They commissioned me to create a large scale upcycled sculpture, so I did. We had a few community engagement sessions, where people created collage pieces out of plastic bags with plastic fusion and then I've incorporated them in the big piece. It had become a mushroom sculpture due to its plastic nature: There are mushrooms on our planet that can eat and digest plastic! 🍄🌿👌
So maybe in 10 years time it will make more sense why I've chosen the mushroom for its shape.

We had a great time making baskets on Sunday at Castle Bromwich Historic Gardens. The heat was not so great to be honest as we had to spray water on the baskets all the way through the 6 h session. Willow is flexible when it's wet. Well done to everyone who came and made a basket! Big thanks to the CBHG team for arranging this session and thank you also for our complimentary drinks!

Last Tuesday the 24/7 Neighbourhood Mental Health Care Centre opened in Small Heath. I was commissioned to make a tree sculpture out of willow. I created the tree in 3 weeks and installed it before the opening at the centre. We decorated wooden leaves with positive messages and added to the tree during a workshop last Tuesday. I'm very grateful for having been asked for such a lovely cause.🤗 Everyone at the opening were very happy for this special NHS centre to open and they were also pleased with the interior tree sculpture. ✨️The last video is a little footage of BBC West Midlands News where the tree shows up for a few seconds in the background. Last Saturday I was invited to Cheshire to run a frame basket-making workshop. We had 6 hours to make these baskets and by the end of the day almost everyone managed to complete them apart from one lady. I really hope she's finished hers by now. 🙌🙏🌱🤞
It was a speedy weaving session in record time and thanks to we've had delicious lunch too! Many thanks for having me at Alpraham and Calveley Village Hall! Hope you're making good use of your baskets?!🙏✨️🤗
