Can you actually remove mould and damp Tom 🤔

It’s been a brilliant week of results

Yesterday i applied Zinsser Gardź to the walls to create a seal and barrier to prevent any more moisture coming to the surface in simple terms a stabiliser and blocker

From there a compound filler has been applied to give the walls their new faces leaving them flat and smoother, this is now a porous surface allowing the walls to breath.

For the finish of this preparation, two coats of Zinsser Perma white have been applied this product creates another barrier which contains anti microbial biocides meaning mould will never be able to grow on these walls ever again 🙌

On Wednesday these walls was in a state that sits in the category of severe damp by Friday they are now in the 5-12% category which all healthy walls should be

The proof is in the pudding

Praise the lord 🙌

We are cooking on gas, the moisture metre readings have dropped dramatically over night with the assistance of fan heaters.

Not guna lie I was worried 😬

Today I can start applying materials which will aid bringing this all back to life.

Starting with Zinsser Gardź, this product is like water it pours deep into the substrate and any loose or chalky areas it meets it will bind them together, leaving a solid surface and more importantly a barrier to stop future moisture rising.

Today I am setting my foundations 🪨

Today I have been presented with the worst case of damp I have ever seen 🤯

On inspection with the moisture metre to see what I was up against I learnt that, this property actually sits in the severe category of damp 😬

Your walls being healthy should typically read between 5 and 12% on the metre.

Moisture of this severity can lead to structural damage, damp and mould

I have spent the day removing what has come off willingly and what remains will add to the strength of the new structure being applied.

Tonight I’m leaving the property in the hands of the drying gods assisted by heaters and fans, so I can see what the property can do for itself over night. Before I hit it with the best products on the market and start pouring all my knowledge and prep into making this tired home looking presentable again.

All equipment is protected by thermal cut out reassuring me if they get to warm they will shut off 🙌

Metre readings have been marked on the wall’s to see if we have achieved anything by morning 🤞

Before any body starts to think how can you live like that, it’s not the owners fault as there is 127 neighbouring residents that are facing similar problems if not worse. this is the reality of Windsor bank
