Who needs a plasterer when you got and skimming blade 💪🏻💪🏻

After stripping the woodchip off the walls… well, I say stripping, it practically fell off 😂🙈

We were then left with the walls in a pretty bad condition. As we hadn’t allowed for the walls to be plastered, we decided to go down the Dalapro Roll Nova route instead.

It’s a fantastic product for bringing tired, uneven walls back to life and, when applied correctly, gives a lovely smooth finish ready for decorating.

Another example of why good preparation is so important — it’s all about working with what you’ve got and finding the right solution to get the best possible finish. 👌🏼

Really happy with how this turned out. A lot of preparation went into getting this right and where it needed to be following the previous decorator lack of prep.

Massive thank you to the talented . We are over the moon with this. I asked Steve if he could do this particular picture of her and you didn’t disappoint it’s incredible. Anyone that knows me and tash will know we adore Marilyn Monroe equally. Can’t wait to put this up.

One we were really pleased with.
This lounge had been decorated previously, but the finish just wasn’t where it needed to be. So we were brought in to put it right and give the room a proper finish.

A lot of the work was in the preparation. Getting the surfaces right, taking the time to deal with the previous work and making sure everything was ready before putting the final coats on.

We used Dulux Trade Ultra Matt on the ceiling, Diamond Matt in Brushed Gold on the walls and Uni Primer followed by Diamond Satinwood on the woodwork.

The Brushed Gold has made such a difference to the room. It’s warm without being too much, and with the fresh white ceiling and woodwork it all ties together really well.

This is the part of decorating we enjoy most, taking a room that isn’t quite right, putting the work in and seeing it come together properly.

Really happy with the finish on this one. We cover; Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch & surrounding areas.

This is why proper preparation matters… 👀

This wooden window reveal had been left with heavy roller marks and orange peel from the previous decorator.

Rather than simply painting over it, we took it back and rebuilt the finish properly.

🔨 Sanded everything back
🔨 Filled using Toupret Wood Filler
🔨 Sanded again and thoroughly removed all dust with a hoover and tack cloth
🔨 Applied Dulux Trade Uni Primer
🔨 Fine surface filled the remaining imperfections
🔨 Sanded again with 240 grit
🔨 Another coat of Uni Primer
🔨 Finished with Dulux Trade Diamond Satinwood

The result? A smooth, clean and hard-wearing finish. 👌🎨

It takes time to get a finish like this — and it all starts with the preparation.
