After managing fabrics shops in London for over a decade, Päivi followed her love of designing and making and went on to study Costume for Theatre & Film, gaining a BA Hons. Since graduating, she has worked in the industry as a Freelance Maker & Wardrobe Supervisor for The Royal Opera House, Kylie Minogue, Rambert as well as events such such the National Television Awards and Prince Charles’ 50 Year Investiture Gala at Buckingham Palace. Her career was flying high until the pandemic hit and the theatres closed. It was then that she decided to turn this negative into a positive and started Cloth Control, and with the nations new found love of sewing this new venture was a raging success. Now two years later we are delighted to say Cloth Control has now opened its first high street shop on Brighton famous North Laines.
