Let’s talk cleaning! 🧼

Now i’m not going to sit here and pretend I love cleaning (I absolutely don’t), but I do love how a space feels afterwards. Over time I’ve realised it’s not actually the cleaning that’s the problem… it’s how overwhelming and boring it can feel when you build it up into this big thing that keeps getting put off…

So instead of doing that, these are a few little things I do that make it feel way more manageable (and sometimes… dare I say, enjoyable??)

1. Set a timer. This has changed everything for me! I’ll put 10 or 20 minutes on and just do what I can to try and beat the clock… There’s no pressure to finish the whole room but it motivates me to clean more quickly and try and get a PB 🤣. It weirdly turns it into a bit of a game, and once you’ve started doing it, you usually end up wanting to do more anyway!

2. Move things around and switch up the decor. This helps make it feel less like a chore and more like pottering about. I’ll use cleaning as an excuse to restyle a shelf or console to make the space feel like new. Even just switching your bedroom/living room cushions or moving a lamp… before you know it the room feels completely different. It gives you that instant, rewarding feeling.

3. Clean little and often. This is easier said than done, I know, but I used to leave everything until it got really bad and then have to invest hours to a cleaning session. Doing smaller bits more regularly just keeps things ticking over and stops it ever feeling like a massive task.

4. Put your headphones on! Honestly, wireless headphones… GAME CHANGER. This is now a non-negotiable for me. Podcast, music, audiobook… something that makes it feel like your time. It turns cleaning into a bit of a background activity and I am here for it!

It’s safe to say that cleaning is still not my favourite thing in the world to do… but these little tricks help make it feel a lot less painful! 🤣

Read this before you open that paint tin! 👇

Choosing a paint colour isn’t just about what looks good on a swatch or in someone else’s home. You need to know EXACTLY how that colour behaves in your own space and the way you want it to feel. I’ve seen so many people rush this important step only to repaint weeks later, so here’s 5 things you need to know before picking up the paint brush!

1. Lighting changes everything… and I mean everything! A colour can look completely different depending on which way your room faces. North facing rooms tend to have cooler (slightly blue) light which can make colours feel a bit flat and grey, whereas south facing rooms get that a warm golden glow that brings colours to life. And don’t forget that it shifts throughout the day, so what you see in the morning won’t be the same in the evening.

2. Choose the right undertone (this is the thing that catches most people out!) That perfect neutral can suddenly look pink, yellow or even green once it’s on your wall. Undertones are what make a colour either warm or cool and you want to make sure yours works beautifully with your space.

3. Think about the size of your room and the height of your ceilings. Lighter colours can help bounce light around and feel far more open, but darker shades can actually make a space feel cosy and intentional when used well. And ceilings matter more than you think… Painting them the same colour as your walls can create a really soft and seamless look.

4. Question how you want your room to feel overall. Before you commit to a paint colour ask yourself if you want the space to feel calm and restful, warm and inviting or bright and energising. A lot of people skip this step but it really does make a big difference. The feeling should ALWAYS come before the colour!

5. Test, test and test again! Don’t rely on tiny swatches or how it looks online. Paint large samples on all four walls and look at them at different times of day to see how they sit next to everything else in the room. It’s the easiest way to avoid an expensive mistake.

As someone who has learned this the hard way, trust me… A little extra thought at this stage make

It’s safe to say that my festive mode is well and truly activated and I can’t wait to share more with you!

My mum and I went to a pendant making workshop recently and it was so much fun!

Nothing beats getting a bit crafty and hands-on and it was nice to escape for the morning and learning how to cut, shape and solder the silver. Seeing something we’d designed come to life was so rewarding… ☺️

We both made silver pendants in memory of my grandma, but more than anything it reminded me how much fun it is to get creative and make something with your own hands… Note to self: Do more things like this!!

Big thank you to for hosting us both! 🥰
