As the last few days of 2025 roll by, here’s some numbers to reflect on the year. This will be the third year I’ve done this, and I’ve created a highlight on my profile where they are collected.

Several brilliant potters do this and so far this year, I’ve seen very interesting posts from and .li

Everyone is different and everyone shares different numbers. I think it is incredibly useful for other potters or handmade businesses to see.

As you have hopefully seen my post from a couple of weeks ago, I have taken the decision to start a full time non-pottery job. In the next few months I hope to find a balance of how my practice and business looks in 2026. Next year’s review post will be different for sure!

Thanks again for being here, whether you followed today or in 2018, your support means the world ❤️❤️❤️

This has been one of the most difficult posts to make, simply because there is so much to convey. This is a time of change, not an ending.

Running a business is a 24/7 endeavour and not for the faint-hearted. I need some breathing space to develop as an artist, rather than a business. I’m looking forward to making ceramics for the love of the process and I have tons of ideas I want to explore. Sharing the ideas and process on here is a huge part of what I do, so I hope you’ll stick around for it.

I’ll still be selling what I make, but naturally it will be in much smaller quantities.

Thank you for following, commenting, sharing and buying from me. At the start of 2020 my initial plan was to go part time in my old job and see what happened with pottery and, well, that escalated quickly! All thanks to all of you ❤️

I don’t really celebrate my achievements, but I’m proud of what I have built here. I’m certainly not knocking it all down, but I know that making a change is what’s right for me at the moment.

Development, curiosity and experiments are the name of the game for 2026! I hope you’ll stick with me to see what happens next ❤️

Last orders please! I will be closing up my shop at www.emmapuddickpottery.com and on .co this Wednesday 17th December at 6pm. This gives plenty of time for last UK post and maintains my fragile sanity. Thank you 📦🎄🎅🏼

Remember just a few years ago when Black Friday was a novelty from across the Atlantic? Now it seems to have consumed retailers pre-Christmas sales period. If Black Friday deals work for you, I’m not going to tell you not to grab them!

But please remember these huge businesses can offer deals in a way that small businesses can’t (just look at the ‘tax’ affairs of some of them). Where you can choose local, independent, small, colourful businesses, your money does far more good. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
