Formally known as Nailsea Electrical, the company was first established in 1982 by Peter Gilks as an electrical retail shop in Nailsea, just outside of Bristol. A few years later, Peter opened a second shop in Bristol on the Gloucester R

oad, and in 1988 was crowned HTV’s Young Businessman of the Year. NE Appliances is still family-owned, now run by Peter’s son, Benjamin Gilks, who won Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013 and has grown the company to the South West’s largest appliance destination. In 2020, Nailsea Electrical was rebranded to NE Appliances and the business invested in a brand-new website and a purpose-built kitchen appliance showroom in Hengrove, Bristol. The store boasts the largest displays of built-in appliances, refrigeration and range cooking in the South West with the excellent levels of service and value our customers expect.
