12x buckets of flowers for a DIY wedding this weekend. As a small plot owner I was a bit worried about keeping the plants alive through the heatwaves for this event. I did it! And relax…

It’s been a lot of work to keep my plants alive this year. I’ve been watering whilst trying to keep my water usage to a minimum. I’ve been feeding and deadheading to keep the supply going as well as I can. I lost a whole load of seedlings about six weeks ago which has left me with a gap in supply now. That is why I have had to put my products out of stock. I don’t know if I will have much now for the rest of the season. Plants are going to seed quicker and can’t produce as many blooms as they have before. Because it’s so hot and dry. The answer is mulching in winter and planning what to grow and when and being extremely organised. The months ahead (when not growing) will be taken up by doing just that. I’m reading a lot about plants resistant to heat. Everyone that grows has struggled this summer so sending love and support to you.
