Unfortunately, last night took an unexpected turn of events....
For the past few weeks we have been unsure if Lavender was pregnant or not but after putting on lots of weight in the past 3 weeks and showing signs of being pregnant we didn't go ahead with her spay that was booked in two weeks ago as we suspected her to be too far gone to abort so we thought we would wait a couple of weeks and see what happened. At her few vet appointments she has had over the past few weeks the vets did say they could potentially feel one kitten but not 100% sure.
Over the weekend she started having some milk coming through which we thought meant she was going to go into labour within the next couple of days.
Last night the fosterer quickly noticed that Lavender didn't seem herself and was bleeding from her her va**na and having weird pulsating movements.
After being admitted to the vets last night and doing ultrasounds they are unsure if there is one deceased kitten or if it is a pocket of infection.... either way she needs to undergo emergency suspected pyometra surgery 😓
Thankfully, she is still bright and alert even though not her normal self.
Last night's vet bill was £310.73 and todays "pyometra type surgery" will be from £500 depending what they need to do. Lavender also has an ongoing eye complaint which has been looked into multiple times with no real diagnosis as yet as they suspect its a blocked tear duct but couldn't put her through surgery until after she had given birth.
Today is going to be very expensive and money is really really difficult. Please donate where possible as every pound helps! If you can not donate then remember every share also counts and helps...
